Stamped Concrete our process
Flint concrete uses a liquid integral color that is added to the concrete before pouring. Base colors can also be added using a topical color hardener. A release agent is needed to prevent the stamps from sticking to the unfinished concrete. The Release agent often gives the concrete a secondary color for a more natural look. Once the decorative concrete has properly cured, we pressure wash and apply a protective sealant. This gives the concrete colors more depth while increasing durability and resistance to stains.
What color is concrete when it dries?
Why is concrete different colors?
Forms with different rates of absorption will cause surfaces with different shades of color. … Concrete surfaces that are troweled too early will increase the water-cement ratio at the surface and lighten the color. Concrete which is not properly or uniformly cured may develop discoloration.
Does Colored concrete fade?
The color pigments used in colored concrete are UV stable and fade resistant and does not fade. The cement does however change tones during the curing process and as it ages in the weather.
What Is the Best Way to Care for Colored Concrete?
Generally, colored concrete can be cleaned and maintained the same way as any other concrete surface. It is best to lightly clean stains with an approved cleaning product or soap. Many people who use colored concrete for indoor floors prefer to polish the surface for increased sheen.
Stamped Concrete
Stamped concrete is concrete that is patterned and/or textured or embossed to resemble brick, slate, flagstone, stone, tile, wood, and various other patterns and textures. Stamped concrete is commonly used for patios, sidewalks, driveways, pool decks, and interior flooring. The ability of stamped concrete to resemble other building materials makes stamped concrete a less expensive alternative to using those other authentic materials such as stone, slate or brick.
